I have a lot of gay friends, so I often go to Itaewon gay clubs.
A lot of male and female idols come there. There are lots of kids who just grab a table and fool around, and the ones who are openly playful and silly are kinda dumb. Maybe it’s because they’re not famous yet ㅋㅋㅋㅋ When I told them to be careful, they got shocked and asked me how I knew they were idols.
I see a lot of 2nd and 3rd generation girl groups too. They have so much fun, and sometimes when that group’s songs come out, they dance, and everyone cheers and it turns into chaos.

1. For real? Aren’t they scared of getting caught?
> OP: Gay guys don't take photos and upload them, either because they are busy just hanging out among themselves or because they are being considerate ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But aside from me, my friends too say they see idols every time. Hong Seok-cheon comes every week.
> ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Hong Seok-cheon is completely open about it thoughㅋㅋㅋ But regular women go to gay clubs quite a lot too… And unless someone is a community addict or an attention seeker, they probably wouldn’t spread it online anyway.
2. I knew idols went to regular clubs a lot, but I didn’t know they went to gay clubs too. Then again, even in regular clubs everyone’s busy having fun, and gay clubs have outing issues too, so in a way it might actually be safer for celebrities? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (t/n: they mean gays won't expose the idols going to gay clubs because then they will out themselves as gay)
3. More women go to gay clubs than you’d think. It’s literally just to enjoy the atmosphere, honestly it’s more comfortable for women than regular clubs. Not sure how it is from the gay guys’ perspective though… A lot of women aren’t there to meet men in the first place.
> For women who hate people sticking to them, aren’t thinking about hookups, and just want to dance for real, gay clubs are probably more comfortable.
> OP: Yeah, there’s zero weird touching, they just ask me for dance battles. I’m seriously a hardcore K-pop nerd, so I go around battling “dance girls.” But since around May last year? women have to pay a basic entrance fee of 50,000 won, so you have to really commit to going.
4. A lot of women go to gay clubsㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I’ve been too.
5. Wow, but lesbian clubs never let men in at all, that’s interesting.
6. Idols actually go around a lot more than you’d think. I’ve seen a ton of famous idols in Apgujeong too.
7. Does this even make sense? If it was real, Dispatch or people who sell info for money wouldn’t just leave it alone, how could they go often?
> Even if reporters know, they can’t publish it. Outing is a crime. And just because they go doesn’t mean they’re gay.
> But online or Twitter, there are tons of people who don’t care about the law, isn’t it weird that not a single person leaks photos and runs? Wouldn’t there already be photos on Twitter like “your oppa / your idol went to ○○○” going around as gifs?
8. Going to a gay club doesn’t mean that they are gay anyway ㅋㅋ But publishing an article about it would be outing, which is a crime.
> OP: Yeah, going doesn’t automatically mean they’re gay. I saw a male actor once, he came with a girl-group acquaintance. They got close through a drama and even brought staff. I saw them all come together.
9. I’m not trying to argue, I’m just genuinely curious, I get why female idols go to gay clubs, but if male idols going doesn’t automatically mean they’re gay, then why do they go..?
> OP: Usually they come out of curiosity with female friends. Even with masks and hats, they still look way too much like celebrities
10. KARA’s Park Gyuri went to a gay club during COVID and ended up posting an apology, rememberㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
11. In gay clubs, posting photos could forcibly out someone nearby, so it seems like people don’t take photos much.
12. This is random, but I’m curious, how’s the drama Love in the Big City? I enjoyed it, but is it fairly realistic? Or is it still just drama-level fantasy?
> OP: I’m not gay so I don’t know, but my friends say “a drama is still just a drama.”
13. I kinda want to go at least once, what’s the age range like?
14. Sounds insanely fun, I went before with a gay friend too.
